Since I don't know your experience level and since you say you're not sure if you're ready for these, build Stanley Stove & Boiler. It's simpler lines will get you used to Bar Mills kits if you haven't done one before. His kits are very nice and quite buildable. There are a couple of guys on You Tube that have videos of Bar Mills builds. They'll help you get a feel for how these kits are done. Looking forward to following your build!Good Morning All. 40° and clear. Another day of great weather here. My plans for a productive day in the train shed yesterday were sidetracked by Christmas. Got out the boxes of stuff that will not be used and sort through it again. Since downsizing the tree to 18" from 7', I just don't need all of this junk anymore.
Hey there Francine, you know that a bacon and cheese sandwich sounds great this morning. How much bacon? At least twice what fits.
Looks like building a laser-cut wood kit might just be my next project in the train shed. I am not ready for these structures yet, but I am itching to build one. Here's my two choices. What do you think?

Or Stanley Stove & Boiler Company; which will be repurposed into a different industry.

"Hey Skinny Santa!"
Kadee underslung couplers should get you very close, as far as height.Morning all,
Partly sunny and an expected high of 62* in Doo-Dah. Currently clear and 33*
Time for coffee this morning.
Had a few minutes yesterday and ended up spilling a triple bin rack of odds and ends all over the layout, by the time I got them put back and resorted, I'd almost forgotten what I started looking for.
Sadly found that my Mantua 0-6-0 switcher has the couplers too low for any "modern" cars. I know I need change the couplers, but to raise them would look really bad. I could use different trucks under the tender, but I think I would really need to rewire it and replace the open frame motor. It does run fairly well. Can anyone say static display?
Willie: I was just getting into the office when you posted you were going back to bed.
"One small step for man". We've all been there and moved forward, although I am not to that level on engines.Greg: that weathered Santa Fe is gorgeous! Actually, every inch of that photo is inspired. That is the level I would like to achieve someday
Johnny - that is by far the best answering message I ever heard! There will probably be numerous complaints to the school board. Great post!My cousin sent me this. Thought it was interesting enough to share. Hope it doesn't qualify as "political" Enjoy, especially you, Ray!!
I believe so.My dad used to have a Big Ben in his truck. Its been years since I heard that chime.
Also, that Zephyr is in Chi-town at the Museum of Sci. and Industry, isn't it?

I had a shingles shot a few years ago, and then came down with shingles a couple of years after. Maybe it was the shot, but I don't remember the disease as being particularly bothersome: a mild rash on one side of my back, maybe some itching, but nothing else.Same here Willie, we have a a few racks the will hold up to ~150 logs altogether though we rarely ever have them stacked full. My problem this time, was that I underestimated the impact of not having direct sunlight to provide radiant heat [because of the thick rain cloud cover] on Sunday, so I only brought in half the amount of wood [on Saturday] that I should have gotten while they were still dry.
But it's all good, I melt-off a lot of calories hauling this wood !
Thanx Chet, the furnace is working once again - at least for the rest of the current season.
In other news...I found a CVS Minute Clinic in my area that actually had Shingrix in stock, so I went in and got my initial vaccination today. I still remember the horror stories our friend "New Guy" Bruce shared about his Shingles sufferings, never want to go thru something like that myself [hope he's doing ok]! I got the injection 6 hours ago and, as of now, I'm not yet experiencing any of the nastier side effects.
No layout scenery project time today so nothing to report on that. Maybe tomorrow...[?]
Love it! I immediately posted it to my neighborhood fb page.My cousin sent me this. Thought it was interesting enough to share. Hope it doesn't qualify as "political" Enjoy, especially you, Ray!!
