Garry There you go again! Your killing me! Great looking work!

Good morning. 52 degrees with overcast skies with a chance of rain.

Willie - As time passes, the vehicles in the layout will collect dust. That's about as far as I will go. When I croak, my family might get a bit more for them is they aren't weathered.

Louis - I like your attitude with the kids. They may have lost, but the other team really had to work hard to beat them.

I guess I am going to open my mouth and stick my foot in it. For the fool who said he had enough locomotives, I just ordered one. I did a lot of looking and was trying to find a Northern Pacific F-7 that I could run at the club in Livingston that was a DCC locomotive. The only F unit I could find was a FP-7 which had the wrong number. The Northern Pacific only had 2 FP-7's and they were number 6600 and 6601. All the rest of their F units were F-7's. Also, it was painted in the Modern Lowey paint scheme and I was looking for something for pulling freight trains. Finally after a lot of looking I found this Atlas Gold RS-1 with DCC and sound.

View attachment 61931 Having had excellent experience with Atlas locomotives and also that I really like Alcos, I thought I would give it a try.

If anyone has any experience with the Atlas RS-1 with SCC and ESU LocSound, let me know what you think of them.

Later.

chet ...I have one with the sound that I bought a year ago...awesome loco.!!!!

Surgery is set Monday morning .. They want me there at 5:30 AM!
WE will drive up that morning leaving here around 3:00 AM?
I pray the Doctors are awake and they had a good nights sleep.

They have mentioned another procedure Tuesday morning - I assume to "block off" one of the artery's that they are replacing with the run-around pipe they are installing on Monday? I don't think this is hard cast - guess they want to see how I fare?

Sherrel ... Most importantly, prayers for you and your surgery Monday morning. ... Thanks for commenting on my photo.

Joe.... Technology is driving me crazy. Seems like "use friendly" is a long forgotten concept. Maybe, someday, I will figure out another way to post photos.

Joe ..... I just figured out how to download to this forum directly from the computer without PhotoBucket. .... ... And I did not have to look at the stupid ads on PhotoBucket.

They are the same images I posted before.

Louis - Sorry to hear of the back to back losses for the team. I know how hard that you worked with them.

Thank you Willie, but my thoughts are winning builds confidence, but losing can build character, you need both.

That reminds me, I over heard one of my boys was boasting how good he is. I told him "yes you are a good athlete. Now add some humility and compassion for others and you could become a great man someday. Your athleticism will fade but you can always be a great man"

My thoughts exactly Chet! The first time we played the best team they beat us by one in a shoot out, we could not catch a cold. The last time we played some good defense and lost by one. Had we hit like we did in the first game we would have blown them out. Many MLB players are not consistent hitters, how can I expect my 7-8 year olds to be.

Congratulations on your new locomotive!

Good morning all, 65 and some light drizzle off and on.

We had a real estate closing sold one acre of my Moms land to a brother. It went good, he is a little miffed about having to buy it but we have to follow the lawyers instructions on everything.

No longer sore below the neck, will be working on the depot some today.

lasm

David you are the right man to handle the estate. You have to follow the law.

I'm glad you are feeling better.

Below is work in progress for my bridge project. .... I just started running trains over the bridges. So far an SD7 and a GP7 are the only locos that crossed over the bridges. .... From left to right are a 17" truss bridge, a 210 scale feet steel trestle (viaduct) with a curve, a 9" truss bridge, about 18" of track over wood with curve (Scenery will be added), and a 20" truss bridge. ..... Total distance is about 8'..... I built all of the background scenes before building the bridges because I would not be able to reach over bridges very easily.

Much more work remains.

Wow! Amazing!

Interesting turn of events may be on the horizon.
The admin of this place has told my Dad to tell me NO MORE BEER!
I guess he's one of those chicken-shits who can't talk to the offending party directly.
Anyway, he claims I walked out on the highway and almost got hit.
What a bunch of BS. Now Dad got on my ass and my brother's ass about to not bring any more beer out here to me.

A violation of this new edict means I'm likely to be evicted.
Today Bill came to get to do some running around. One of the first things he mentioned was to take over the apartment he just had. it's one of Dad's apts. and costs only $450 which is nearly 1/3 the price of place. I'm considering it. Bill had some work to finish up at Dad's after he dropped me back off so I told him to tell Dad that I'm interested in doing that.
I don't need some tyrant kid administrator telling me I can't drink. I don't know what the problem is really. I never was in the highway at all. I was close by no doubt but not in the travel-way at all. And.... how does he know/think I was drunk? Even though I can put down a beer through this g-tube it doesn't mean I get drunk - in fact I have not.
So where he gets his connections is in his own imagination.

I think moving to Dad's apartment would be a good idea. There is an attached garage where I can do all the board cutting I need to do without worrying about waking anyone.

I have an appointment with a Dr. in Champaign [IL] with an ENT reconstruction specialist Monday at 1300 to see about fixing me up enough to be able to eat and drink like a regular person once again.

Back to model building!!!!
E.

Rhetorical question; why do some tea totalers think drinking one beer makes for a drunken fool? People with no experience, should not even comment about the subject.

The apartment sounds like a good option.

What will you eat first?

Being the experienced salesmen I am I know to separate the most important topic and to save it for the last.

Think positive my friend, "no negative waves baby" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fisqGENobc

The best technicians I have worked with in my life do there best work early in the morning. Like Ben Franklin said "Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy wealthy and wise"

You are going to do great! We are all with you!

God Bless Us Everyone!

Oh. Sort of like calling someone a putz instead of a dick.

Gosh.... I've been thinking about that for a long time!
We shouldn't jump the gun to think I will be able to become normal once again.
So I'm cautiously optimistic about that deal.
I had a dream last night about eating garlic bread and chocolate chip cookies.
I woke up starving so I poored some of these drinks down my g-trube. It just ain't the same.

Personally, I think mac-n-cheese casserole would be a good initial choice, then move up from there.
But that's just me...

Happy Fathers Day to all.

puter is giving me a fit. I think "MURPHY" has a home in it.

Prayers for all,
Flip

With just a little 91%, or better, ground beef added to it!

LOUIS .. A little apprehensive going in, but still thinking positive. I loved that movie .. Hell, I love anything Clint did anyway. He's right there next to Marion Morrison!

Are you using your new toy yet, or do the Geeks have it?

Are you using your new toy yet, or do the Geeks have it?

Sorry, Terry, just saw your post. I just made an appointment with the Geeks to drop off both "toy's" tomorrow at 6pm. They can do the data switch while I am in hospital. Once cleaned, will give the ASUS to my son who has to tap on his screen to get his to work. Geeks said that it will be covered in PHX under my service plan. I did not know that I am allowed three " covered" computers.

Went to the Timonium show today. Lots of used stuff. I found a set of three small stubby tankers. I don't know who makes them but got them for $10 each. Very good detail in the foot boards, hand rails and car structure.
OK, I found them. 8000 gallon tankers made by Athearn.
The rest of the stuff I picked up were mostly 20' containers and some 40 footers.
I stopped in at MB Klien that is just a few miles away and picked up a LokSound sound decoder and a new motor for a P40 Amtrac I tryin to restore.
Went on over to MainLine Hobbies in Summit, PA and found an MTH ES44AC along with a Truck Tuner tool for cleaning rail car truck wheel pockets.

Well, KEN, some of us get to spend $ on trains and have a cubbord full of HD parts while some of us get to help keep the Medical Profession alive!
Looks like a nice haul you made. Like those 8k tankers. Liked the old style even better!
Think you will enjoy the truck tuner from what I have heard. Couple people at the Frisco site swear by them.
No opinion on the MTH whatever. Hope you got a good deal - you a sure did on the tankers.

P?S? You dang well better swing by this way on your trip ... I have a nice bed and shower for you!

For some reason, I thought Temecula was in northern California. I could stop in there on the way to my niece's house in Vista. Probably be around the 4th of August.

Good evening y'all. 68 and Foggy. Had some rain this afternoon, saved me watering the flower beds.

Hope everyone has a happy Fathers day tomorrow.

Curt: Hope you and Mrs. had a nice 39th Anniversary today.

Garry: That's quite an extensive bridge project. Looking good.

Eric: Possibly, getting your own place would be better. These "facilities" wear on you after a while. Planning on having normalcy restored is positive.news.

Sherrel: 0530 is a very early start, with Admin BSand Prep, it looks like a 0700 - 0730 start. Good Luck, and Prayers.

Chet:
Welcome to the wacky, wonderful world of DCC. It only takes one to get hooked!

Ken in VA: Sounds like you had a productive day. I was thinking of driving down, but changed my mind.

Sorry if I missed anyone.

In addition to visiting Sherrel, you can take in the Orange Empire Railroad Museum, as well as the aerospace museum just down the road.
