Mike - Nice photo.
Curt - It can be interesting running on the club layout. At the beginning of the cab ride, you'll notice a red signal at the far end of the bridge. The light shows occupancy by another train. If someone blows the red signal, the chances of an accident at the crossing in the tunnel are pretty good. The guy who blows the light has to crawl under the layout and sort thing out. At the far end of the first tunnel where the window is, they have a circus scene that can be seen from the outside. The tunnels through the walls going into other rooms had to be jack hammered through two feet of the concrete basement wall. The didn't cut any corners building this depot.
The smoke in the valley is pretty think. Doing a bit of searching, I found out that there are a number of lightning caused fires. Two are just over the mountain range to out west and another is in the northwest corner of Yellowstone Park about 40 miles south of us.. The park DOES NOT fight the fires wanting to keep everything "natural".
I did get a little work done while running trains today. Got the bumper installed at the end of the siding by the office/shop building and aded ties for steps up to the deck. Still have a lot of work to do there.
