Waukesha Soo Line Depot

Well at one time there were three railroads coming thru Waukesha. the Milwaukee Road, The C & NW, and the Soo Line. Only the Soo depot is still used by a railroad - namely the CN. Some morning shots I just got -- ATCS let me know the Whizzer was coming so I buzzed over there to get it!

The Soo Line Depot - Waukesha as it is.

Front and back - front side against the sun which is the power of Nikon to get the shot -- and the rear. Don't go over there, it is private property of the CN ...

AND here comes the WAMX --

That loco sitting on the side track / tie up track is the L504 job, soon to be going out to work.

I used to visit Waukeshua in the 80's, but never got a picture of it. Looks about the same, glad to say. I remember it being a nice stone station, which it still looks like, glad to say.

Railfanning here regularly, it's nice to know that people care about this place! I saw a burned up covered hopper on the tie up track a few days ago, and the L504 power is generally consisted of a CN Geep, and another fallen flag geep (GTW, IC, E,J,&E).

Do you have any photos of the tracks around Waukesha? I've been really interesting in old photos around the tracks, it's just something I can relate to what I see today.
