Good morning. A sunny start to the day. Started this way yesterday but as it was in the past few days, thunderstorms moved in. It was like driving under a waterfall coming over the pass yesterday from Livingston. Again, I sure appreciate Rainex. Made quite a difference.
Dave - I really like your photo. You have posted many small scenes and now this photo puts them in perspective. Nice.
Garry - Like the parade photo.
Willie - Enjoyed you gondola loads. Sharp!
Terry - We also had some idiots setting off fireworks into the early morning hours. Our little doxie usually isn't bothered much by thunderstorms unless they are really close. The fireworks did bother her and she was plastered up against me most of the night.
It was a busy day at the club yesterday. Outside the depot there were probably around 50 vendors selling various items and food. The club was packed with visitors. We had well over 300 visit the layout. It got a bit tight trying to follow your train from room to room. With the narrow isles, it is not the best for public viewing but they got as much as they could in the space available. Here are some photos.
I came up a couple of times for a drink and something to eat and caught these helpers coming down from the pass.
We laso has some MRL equipment running on the layout.
Here is an interesting photo of a well weathered coal car sitting on the westbound departure track. I believe that they were silver when new. The couplers look a bit like Kadees.
I was able to borrow a Mainline B unit from another club member and was hauling over 30 cars around the layout. We had 8 trains running at the same time which is about the limit with all the visitors we had. Here is my NP F units passing some Burlington U Boats on a passing siding.
Here's one last photo of my train pulling the grade up to the summit.
It was extremely hard to take many photos with all of the visitors, but they all enjoyed visiting the layout and we got so many really good comments about all of the details on the layout.
Later.
