Good Morning All. 71° and partly cloudy. Surprise rain shower showed up at dusk last night, while it only rained .35", it cooled things off rapidly. It felt good to sleep with the windows open last night, probably won't have that opportunity again for at least two more months. A/C normally cycles off between 0300 and 0900 only. That little bit of rain by itself will not be enough to trigger any growth of the grass in the yard. Slow day for chores yesterday, just didn't feel like doing much except hanging some
decorative lanterns from the pool deck railing. They don't cast much light from those battery-powered LEDS, but my wife received them for Mother's Day and fell in love with them. Took her six weeks to decide where she wanted them. In her defense, her mind was on tile!
Out in the train shed yesterday, I ran trains for hours. Ran local switching runs to at least five towns with a half dozen moves in each of them. Used a lash-up of three CF7's on the upper level towns and a pair of GP38-2's on the lower level towns. Did a little more cleanup on the layout, this time removing about a dozen structures for dusting and minor detail repair. Added electric meters to those that didn't already have them. I made about thirty meters a couple of months ago just for this purpose. Looked through several parts stashes to see if I had a weather vane that I could mount to the barn, but found nothing. Found some chickens/roosters, but they are too fat to be of any use. Besides I already have another mini-scene to use them in.
It may be a while before we hear from Sherrel again if he's in the "xxx" room. Lol
Not sure
Sherrel remembers what to do in the xxx room.
David - Thanks for the comments. Stay cool out there.
Sherrel - Stay cool at your place. Highest temperature that I have recorded here is 113°. Several times over the years.
Mike - Thoughts and prayers from me go out for your nephew. Have a safe trip to the Northwoods.
Garry - That rock cut looks really nice.
Everybody have a great day and weekend.
