I am no pro by any stretch of the imagination but, at the risk of repeating myself…;)

If you are looking for sound there's a host of good company out there.
Since sound first came to DCC, most, if not all manufacturer have raised the bar to a level never heard off before.:p

Manufacturer include: QSI, Locksound, Soundtrax Tsunami, MRC:p (I know, I know they have bad press, but in my turbo they are fantastic!)

The high level of fidelity is such, that now people complain about the “echo” or “doppler” effect of the horn, bells etc.. That’s amazing isn’t?

.

I haven't heard the diesel sounds of the LokSound or the MRC, but I can tell you that you are likely to be very happy with either the Quantum Revolution A or the Tsunami. One thing about ordering the Quantum Revolution is that you specify the horn and prime mover combo so that they will send it to you loaded with the right sounds. Not half shabby, eh?
