New Conrail locomotive

First pick looks like Chicago around 21st street bridge.
Second is in South Amboy, New Jersey. Diesel to electric switch for a trip to Manhattan. Way in the back of that relatively clean GG1 is the upper portion of coal yard and locomotive shops. Speaking of that clean GG1, it was probably the only class of locomotives owned by Penn Central which got washed regularly (higher numbered ones), since they made trips through the wash rack when heading into the loop of Sunnyside Yards in Queens, NY.
