I stepped in it now. New Layout due April 15th.


Both look very nice and well thought out plans.

The 1st track plan has more mainline run, the second looks a bit more realistic (once passing through a scene).

Also not having tunnels means not having hidden track with all the benefits that this bears.

Furthermore i think the 2nd plan is quicker and simpler to build. I would probably go for it (the 2nd).
 
The basic flat one is winning with all the people I've shown it to around here. Just as Yannis pointed out - Simple single scenes, and simpler hence quicker to build.

I did try a couple of other twice arounds with hidden staging, but they all end up with the exact same issues, just in slightly different configurations.

Would add a 2-3 track yard or maybe a spur for a staging tray. Also add a siding were the spurs take off on other side.
