This looks like fun to model, how about it Jerome? You do smashed containers or only engines? :)

They regularly run double stacked sea-containers through the Windsor/Detroit tunnel, but the taller domestic containers don't fit when stacked. This train was re-routed due the flooding in the US and I guess they forgot to mention it was too tall for our tunnel!

Wow! That's a great argument for bringing back the caboose. :) Looks like the engineer went on for a bit before he wondered what was causing the drag on his train.
 
Reminds me of the semi-truck auto carrier here in NJ that didn't read the sign for the NYSW bridge in Hackensack,NJ. He hit it around 35mph with brand spanking new ford explorers on both levels. Needless to say 5 explorers now came with a convertible option.
 
About 4 or 5 years ago there was a story on the news about an engineer that tried to tell the dispatcher that his dbl. stacks wouldn't fit under a low bridge on a detour he had to make. They told him that the train would make it w/ease & he didn't know what he was talking about. So, he(the engineer) contacted a friend of his that was a news photographer & told him where to be because he wasn't going to clear a bridge w/a long container train.
The news show showed him hitting the low bridge at about 50mph & smashed about half of the top containers before the train ground to a stop. Then he backed up & made another run at the bridge w/the undamaged dbl. stacks. About that time the law showed up to see the crash & when it got stopped they arrested him.
Does anyone remember this & where it happened?

That stuff happens all the time .Fred I like that one at the Windsor Tunnel. You see truckers do it also . But alot of the times when they repave the roads they never repost the height limit !!!

Wow, how many were damaged all together?
As for trucks, how about rentals?
This is a temporary scene on the new section of the layout.
