00 gauge, British railway, Goathland Station aka Hogwarts Station a real preservation station in England

The hole at the end crosses the access stairs and disappeared into the other loft, and then curves and returns…long term we have plans and buildings for a seaside town, and a safari park….and and and…..

I love trying the unusual, and fooling people if only for a split second.
I have to say I often see great layouts, and I know that I could photograph them far better than the owners do.
Plus we have a loft with velux windows so natural light, when a rainbow is out, dusk, strong light, panning the camera up and down dropping low enough to be IN the layout is the best way to project your layout.
I look carefully at the product I buy I want it to look the best it can, and then just having it out of focus. shading and adding dirt. Those give the biggest lift. in the room some of my stuff just looks dirty, but photographs so well because of that.
The more texture, sizes and colours the better in my opinion.

Then same but no photographed at a low level with decent light
including out of layout

or joins always wrecks the look,

and sharp focus often screams model,

the BRUTE trolley a perfect example,

or size, both 00 but size is clearly off,

and painting needs distance

People are over overawed by the weathering, but it is just really simple steps, and incredibly cheap
telephone box on a road
IMG_8851.jpeg

right as bought
left just has thinned very thinned black tea strength brushed then a small sponge of slightly thicker black paint a major upgrade for a few minutes work
IMG_8850.jpeg

the same on the postbox and darker in the post hole for deep shadow
notice the road way sooo clean
IMG_8801.jpeg

telephone box update postbox not
IMG_8904.jpeg

both
IMG_4278.jpeg

white highlights added where light catches the window panes
IMG_9187.jpeg

snow sprinkled
IMG_4276.jpeg

the same thinned black added to the road, a wider layer, dry,a narrower layer towards the kerb, dry, a third coat tight to the kerb where dirt is carried by rainwater, dried
IMG_4257.jpeg

or water glue added still ‘wet’
these are very simple steps cheap as chips, yet add immense amount of life to your layout.
thinned black water….option white, what does it cost? Your time.

Excellent work, Jaz.

I hope you have someone there in charge of the sheep.
Should there be a gate to keep the sheep in the pen? If not there will be wondering sheep.
If there is no gate sheep would be loaded directly onto a cattle wagon and not be waiting for a cattle truck. The whole structure would therefore be a ramp with loading platform and not a pen.

True but the reference pictures are the same except I need the red notice
maybe they only off load when there is a vehicle in position….where’s a land rover when you need one :)

Goathland sheep are notorious for just walking about as suits them, my model

Goathland sheep, cheeky buggers wander everywhere,
the ones with spotted faces are the Goathland sheep
files are bigger
if mod wants them reduced say and I’ll edit to one.
