Morning all,

Storms quieted done in my immediate area by 9:00ish, but continued another couple of hours well to our east. BIL 90 miles east had over 5 inches of rain and they were in the storm shelters at midnight, but are well this morning. Just more rain expected. Still possible storms there this afternoon.

Not much else yet.

Good Morning All!
46F @ 74% raining, hazy with very slight winds.

Did not have to go to Spo yesterday. Sally decided to get a motel there for the night. James is probably there as we speak. He has an appt Monday.

Kept my face glued to the weather channel watching all the twisters. What a show! Heard that only a few people got hurt, but they did do some damage. Don't remember if we are gonna do it all over again today - good luck to all if so.

Morning folks

38F and more drizzle. Exactly a 1/2" of precip since yesterday morning.

The dogs didn't get me up, my wife didn't get me up, and I didn't get me up last night. That probably hasn't happened for better than two years.

Welp, the swap meet was a bit of a disappointment yesterday-didn't find a single item on my list-and there were about 30 items. A lot of blue box rolling stock but I don't need any more of those. However, it was a nice drive, always enjoy that depot, I picked up a couple of books, and there was an added attraction.

Good Morning!
We are finally getting some very welcome rain, at 37F.
Looks like the G-kids are coming over today. They want me to teach them how to make a sling-shot. Every kid should have a sling-shot.
I don't have any modelling or rail photos, because I've been working on the rock hobby the last couple of days. Found an opal stone in the creek, and it's held my attention as I cut and hand polish a piece.

I'll probably get more paint on the HO gas station today. Might have photos for tomorrow.

Have a wonderful day, without twister issues!

Good morning again. Took the ATV out for a spin on the horse trails. Just some branches that I was able to drag off. I can’t tell if they are same trees as the last storm or that the fallen trees off the trails, are new. The SIL and the lumber Crew will be able to tell on Monday. We did have a couple washed out sections of horse trail that surprised me but not enough to prevent a horse from crossing over. I let the SIL know as he’s the trail fixer!

The daughter texted about 20 minutes ago that the 3pm soccer game is cancelled. Hooray!!!

Tom I never had any spousal rules as far as betting goes. If that was the case, I would have been divorced long ago. It's the culture of the people I play with going back 60 years. You win some days you lose some days I've been on a winning streak lately.
Swal
I understand what you’re saying, it was my culture too, especially the golf gambling. But I am an addicted gambler. It almost cost me the family and after I admitted my problems we came up with a plan. This is it if I want to play golf!

I learned to gamble probably around age 4 or 5 when mom and dad taught us how to play pinochle the card game. $.05 per game. We played every week as a family, monopoly was $.25 per game, landing in jail was a nickel.

In the caddy shack at age 12, pinochle got to be big money, $1.00 per game and $.10 per point. I made more money some days in the caddy shack than actual caddying. College was more of the same but sheepshead was the game at Marquette! Between the sex, drugs and card games I lost my Evans Scholarship after my freshman year. Earned it back starting 2nd semester as a junior, but was not allowed back in the Evans House.

Golf betting started as a caddy. Skin games, team points, individual bet it was awesome and profitable for the most part. Heck as caddies we bet on or against the guys we were caddying for. One Calcutta event the member I was caddying for purchased 10% of the team to split between his groups 4 caddies. We each received over $1000 for that ticket, that’s 1969 $, real big money for a high school senior! At work after college I would get in on Sunday NFL games with a bunch of guys headed up by the VP of Human Services. But when casino gambling happened in Wisconsin, black jack was my downfall. I could win in Vegas but not in Wisconsin at the tribal casinos. I have not played blackjack since August 1990! I loved that game…

There’s a lot more but I’m thankful I get the chance to play golf again and have fun.

I just suffered an interesting experience on Fecesbook. I received an unsolicited message from "Facebook Marketplace Assistant" sending me links to stuff that sellers are promoting that I may be interested in. After doing some checking, it is another Meta product trying to make money off the fees they charge for sponsoring ads.
After some experimenting around, I was able to block it--until they figure out a way to unblock themselves.
Terry, how’d u block it?

Good morning all!

Storms moved through the area late last nigh/early morning. Nothing of the severe variety, but some impressive rain and thunder. We had the bedroom window open so I got a clear view. Really like those kinds of storms in the middle of the night. Dog was a bit antsy, but with both of us there, she was pretty good.

Not much going on today, got most of the household stuff done yesterday.

We shall see what the day brings!

Have a great Sunday all!

Good Morning All, from a rain-soaked North Central Texas. It's cloudy and 61°, a bit cool for late-April, and we're under a flood advisory. Between 2:30 when it started and 5:30 this morning, I recorded 2.1" in the rain gauge. I know that it started at 2:30 because that's when I felt rain coming in the bedroom window and had to close it and another in another room. Flooding here isn't a real concern as we are on the edge of the advisory and any runoff will end quickly, probably already has. The usual hue and cry from the NWS. Things will warm up to 80° later today and we won't see the next round of thunderstorms until Thursday.

I spent the morning yesterday, hoeing and then covering the tomato patch (3'x40') with compost in advance of the expected rain. I also started the process of adding cages to the plants, although I didn't get very far. I did complete all 5 Bell Pepper plant cages though. No work out there today as I would sink and otherwise compress the whole area. After that much rain, it will be Tuesday before I can really do any work. However I always plan the garden layout so that early season crops like Lettuce, Onions and Green Peas are on the outside edges for access during times like these.

Out in the train shed yesterday, I just spent a little time. I started with running more trains, as I had left a few trains parked on passing sidings from Friday's marathon session, that needed to move back to staging. One was still in the midst of a switching job that I completed first.. I have narrowed down my list of "what's next?" as far as projects go, but no final decision yet. Meanwhile I did finish up on the vehicle/extras cleaning in this quarter's cleaning project. It did take longer this time because I missed a few days and started late this month.
As I have pointed out, there is about 30% of my layout left that I have not done anything with except lay track so far. It's intentional because I want to finish up some of the gaps elsewhere. I did however, add in the Ethanol facility last year which set me back on my original goal. I have not stopped building structures that will ultimately go in the unfinished section. Here are a few of them here.
The first two are structures that I got from Chet after he dismantled the Logan Valley RR. Some required rework because of damage in removal and subsequent shipping over 1000 miles. First is the Dusty Saddle Saloon.

And finally a companion to the BBQ trailer that I have shown recently in my layout thread (listed in the signature line below); a taco trailer.

In English, that's Two Sisters Tacos.

Tom O - I didn't used to be concerned about the future in our country, as much as I am now. However I feel that I am insulated enough from many societal ills due to living out here in the boonies away from the worst. I do feel safer living in this state than I would in a few others, but I worry about the spillover effects. Our greatest concern here is the border, but that is somewhat mitigated by the actions of our state leaders. But overall, I am keeping a wary eye towards the cesspool in DC. Your gambling tales reinforce my decision years ago to not gamble, period. I don't even buy lottery tickets.
BTW - Enjoy the golfing outings and don't overdo it. As always, have safe trips.
Todd - I have been happy with my 8 implants, and also 9 crowns. Yes, the 45K was hard to take, but our company's insurance plan took care of $4500 over 3 years. My dentist's office did it all except for making the actual replacements.
John - The new replacement knee is ready to go as soon as she leaves the medical facility. It's the muscles and stuff that take time to heal. Get a tall stool for her to sit on and supervise while you are cooking. My wife had both done over two years, and one redone a year later and has fully recovered. But I have cooked for years and years and took over the kitchen full time when I retired.
Troy - I would venture to guess that the new hearing aids have an adjustment somewhere that allows them to automatically revert to normal as soon as there is no Bluetooth input. Good luck with the back.

Everyone have a great Sunday.

Morning again,

Out and about to look at what tree damage there was around town, and there was ome, alos got gas and groceries. The pets have been returned to their respective homesand I have the basement back in shape. I still need to finish up a bit in the basement, but I underbought the trim for the closet. While my overall lenghth was correct, They way the trim is sold, I'd have to splice a longer piece in and still may have been a little short due to the loss when you cut. It's all good and will be fine when I'm done.

Morning from the West where it is 56 degrees looking for 76 later. The skies are a deep blue and expected to stay that way for the next two days with the temperature going up to 86 on Tuesday!

Im due for a PET scan tomorrow morning as well as a blood draw in prep for Chemo Tue, Wed, and Thur. Hopefully the scan will show that some progress has been made?

The Kitchen redo is progressing along, but still a long way from getting to being able to function again. It will be a showroom when completed - self closing doors and drawers, 48 inch double oven with a six burner cooktop. I just hope that MOH will not forget how to use it? LOL!

Thats all my news for today - I stay pretty much down all the time.
Every one have a beautiful sunny day.

It wasn't easy, since they "really" don't want you to.
I had to open the message, click the menu bar at the top of the message, find the message members, click the facebook marketplace helper, and click "block". Then confirm that, yes, I really "did" want to block the admin of the chat thread.
Ok, I was deleting and blocking ads all the time to where I won’t see messages from that advertiser again but the new stuff the last couple weeks is starting to overwhelm me. I will give it a look, thanks

Sherrel, hang in there! Best wishes on the blood siphoning!

Kitchens IMOO are the toughest but can be so rewarding. Self closing drawers are great but self closing doors are the best. I remember of at least 2 bottom cabinet doors being ripped off by me turning the corner around the island to walk into an open door. Terry didn’t seem to close cabinet doors
