The Washington Monument is the centerpiece of intersecting Mount Vernon Place and Washington Place, an urban square in the Mount Vernon-Belvedere neighborhood north of downtown Baltimore, Maryland. It was the first major monument begun to honor George Washington.

How is that Willie? There is some bawdy stuff going on all over this town and many other towns I would guess. You might not believe the freaky things I've seen going on in the high dollar neighborhoods!

Good morning everyone. 31 and partly sunny.

The predicted storm is passing well south of here, in northern Arkansas. Looks like we dodged the bullet on this one. Had a nice fire in the fireplace anyway, more for ambiance than heat. That and hot cider always mellow me out!!

Willie - hope your area in north Texas didn't get too much snow or ice from this storm.

My wife's procedure ("reincision") went well, took about 20 minutes, and she was home before noon. And, yes, soup and sandwiches for lunch :D
She is recovering by Christmas shopping today - go figure. Thanks again for all your prayers and well wishes.

Did a little bit of landscaping and put down new roadway outside of the town of Pine Valley. Ran trains for a short while.

Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning Everyone...a sunny but frosty morning here in Wisconsin.

Willie: The metal wheel sets are not too shiny but more like a gun metal gray. A coat of Grimy Black on the wheel sides will make these wheel sets fine for most modelers. They are sold as WaltersPROTO at $8.98 (reg $9.98) for a set of 12. Glad you liked the engine terminal.

I have some paperwork to do and then down to the layout.

Going to think again about purchasing that Erie Mining locomotive at Walther's. I could replace the LokSound decoder for $50 and have a decent locomotive at half the retail price tag. Also, it could be something as simple as a loose motor connection since the decoder functions all work the way they should.

Plan today do the scenery work on the slope behind the mine and when I get tired of reaching and standing, I'll go under the bench work and work on the wiring for the mine hopper indicator signals.

Not much more to report.

Have a great day.

Greg

Johnny - Great news regarding Dena. Rather unusual that we are seeing you on Saturday!;)
So far we've only experienced drizzle. Snow appears to be about 50 miles west right now and not really advancing, but Mother Nature is a tricky lady sometimes. We're still at 37° and it isn't expected to go below freezing in the next 24 hours. Thanks for the concern.
You need to broaden your cooking horizons!

Anyone left around this morning? It's a very bright sunny day here in socal (short for Socialist California). Supposed to reach 69 degrees today and into the 70's over the next few days.
WYSIWYG!
MARK -
I looked where you posted that the NP started building from on each end. Strange to me that both places seemed to be not near major cities at all?

DAVID CA - You are a little late to the party with the oil - It's been pretty well beat to death by this time, however with lots of answers from everyone - and some searching the net and reading on my part - I now know more than I did about synthetic oil.
The warranty calls for 5w30 blended, so that is what they get.

CURT - The ice house looks really good! Don't cha think though that with your temps there in FL that those blocks of ice aren't going to last long left outside like that? You must have a lot of refer traffic for that size facility?

Going to play with a train now - still have to make repairs on the loco, but I can push the cars around and make choo=choo noise! The annual Bunco Christmas party is at 5 pm - got to find something to wear.

Afternoon All,

Went and visited my buddies in Orlando today and of course had a great time. Watching the Army/Navy game and it's going like I expected.

Thank you to Louis, Willie, and Sherrel for your kind words.

Sherrel- The layout is in NW Ohio so it's cold enough.;)

Willie- Phil did serve in the Army after all!

Terry- Happy Birthday to your wife and I hope you get less of the white stuff.

I hope everyone has a good night.

2 locos and 7 cars. How does his price compare with retail and are the cars available in one purchase elsewhere?

The combo of the 3 could of been had for about $350 or a tad over. Top Hobby has UP#1943 in stock for $90. I remember trainworld discounting #4141 for $69.99, and the passenger set was probably around $180.00. Its the fact he started at $10,000, and he's down to $2000
