Jeffrey, I really like the rust on the first photo you posted. It really gets me to believe it's a metal car that has been sitting outside too long. Nice work.
Its an ALCO DL-109. The New Haven bought most of them that were built and used them for both passenger and freight service. The DL-109 was ALCO's answer to the EMD E series 6 axle units. It was 2000hp provided by two 1000hp prime movers. Few prototype roads bought them and they're rare in HO as well. Some brass were made and as far as I know the only plastic offerings were from Proto 1000, which that is.
