Use photos to help your modeling

This is so true. Back in the late 60's, when I was on instructor duty in the Navy at Mare Island, CA, I was fortunate enough to attend a few operating sessions on John Allens G & D railroad. Many have probably see photos of his layout, which was, and still is one of the best known model railroads. Being a professional photographer, he really enlightened me as to how pohtography can help you in model railroading. I really enjoyed conversations with him as I am an avid photographer also.

He had gone over the points you have brought out in the video, butthen went on pointing out how you can find any mistakes and correct them, and also improve your modeling skills. We have it a lot easier now with out digital cameras. Back then it could be a little more expensive having to process film. It helps so much when trying to get the proper colors and contours for scenery.

I have found that this is a great tool for model railroading. Great post.
