I finally got my NCE system installed and test run. I've got some tweaking to do, but I have a much bigger problem.

Pretty sizable layout in a 12x16 handi-house shed,..

I need to learn how to use my NCE system. I've tried reading the manuals, but all the buttons and CV,s, etc etc has my eyes glassed over,...and my memory at age 80 is working against me.

1) I believe I need to find some good video tutorials to help me get started. Suggestions??
2) I need to visit some clubs near me (St Augustine, Fl) that utilize NCE control systems Suggestions??

I have 2 identical Broadway Lt AC6000 locomotives numbered #5016 , with QSI decoders. They both respond to address of 5016, BUT they appear to have some different program such that one of them appears to have a lot of momentum as compared to the other.

I was trying to get them to run compatible using the same address for both. I tried to reprogram the 'unusual one' on the programing track to reassert its #5016 address, but it still runs differently? So I thought I might start over with that engine and take it back to the factory default setting of #3, and then back to the #5016.

No matter what I did I could not get it back to factory setting of #3 ??

I was sent this reply on another forum,...and it worked.

Try this:
QSI also has a software reset method, using the following process:
  1. Place engine on the main track if it responds to its address. If not, the program track may be required.
  2. Set CV49 to 128
  3. Set CV50 to 255
  4. Set CV56 to 113. As the decoder resets the horn will sound with 3 short signals.
  5. Test out the locomotive using address 3.
