I gave it a try, I think it’s pretty good but I’ll need advice from you guys

Great job, however I think I would have a word with the railroad mechanical department about maintaining your rolling stock. Of course, with times hard, they may not want to do much repainting. (Just kidding. Looks excellent!)
 
Try to add some under spray of mud and dirt, the best way to do this is with an airbrush or spray paint. The easiest way to do it without is to wet down acrylic paint and paint it onto the model then wipe away top to bottom.
 
Great…keep it up, it gets easier the more cars you do…
I started out mostly airbrush weathering but now it’s just one component
Artists oils are your friend…very economical
Vallejo acrylics are excellent…German Dark Brown is an excellent rusty metal colour for chips and scratches..
Pigments..paint pens..so many options
