Just a start, budgeted beginning. All this just experimental as I relearn the tricks of the trade, and see what's still workable from my old stuff. A lot of 'bomb' damage on the buildings to fix up. Just a small portion of my buildings as well as German trains.
Am going US prototypical, the German stuff will get it's own 4X8 with 'dogbone' layouts after completion of the main boards.

Those are really big tables. Plenty of room for everything. If you could use more narrow tables (around 24"), push them out against three walls if possible....then complete the rectangle with another long bench with a drawbridge gate access. Then you and any helpers could be in the center of a larger layout.....easier to reach across tables for construction, etc.. This is what I've decided to do after seeing many modern layouts. Also takes less buildings and scenery supplies to fill up the space.

Right now plan is a North East area transitioning to Mid West. Going to run AMTRAK between the two areas, with D&H, ConRail and CN in North East, and UP, BNSF in Mid West.
