Sound decoder sound

I installed an MRC sound decoder. The horn and bell sound great. The prime mover sound sounds like a screaming cat. Is this normal? Is there any fix?

What locomotive? What sound? Some turbocharged engines do whine. A little more information would help. You'll likely have to set up the programming CV's to balance everything. I hope you got a good owners manual with it. Mu experience with MRC is that they don't tell you much about programming. (not to sound discouraging, all my experience with MRC is with factory installs)
