Scary thing about these pic's are trains actually run on the bad track work! Our little trains derail if were of just a little off!

Yep, that's what it is, Ray. I've never seen one in service on a modern railroad either but this one is in Poway, CA, on the Poway-Midland, a tourist railroad. The whole operation was built from the ground up so someone had to fabricate that switch since stub switches haven't been made in a long time.

Josh, don't know what the deal is with that link but it blows up IE6 trying to laod some kind of plug-in. Anyway, I can see part of the picture before IE quits and it looks like an ingenious way of getting three tracks into an engine house in very little space.
 
Nice pic Jim, that's where the saying "bending the iron" came from.
Much easier to service than the new version!
