I had the same with both pfizer doses. The third one was milder. About 12 hours after it started to kick my butt. I still felt bleh for a day. Woke up fine the following morning.
That's the immune reaction. You're training those B and T cells to remember that spike protein. Whenever they see it in your blood, they'll come out swinging.
On the flip side of boosters, my mother, the liver transplant patient got the moderna shot back in the first wave of old farts getting the jab. She's still waiting on her booster. Moderna is before the FDA this week seeking booster approval, so she's still waiting on hers. I feel guilty now, knowing I got a booster before she did.
But, I'm also heading to Vegas in about 3 weeks for an author conference. I'd hate to be the one to bring the virus back with me.
I've recommended it before:
There is a Doc with a YouTube channel ZDoggMD (He's the son of Indian immigrants with an Indian name, so he's Zdogg from when he thought his channel was going to be a fun look at the health industry, for insiders... then the pandemic hit and he had to get all serious with a silly handle.)
He interviews top docs and scientists in the trenches. Including several interviews with Dr. Monica Gandhi, of UCSF Infectious Disease center who wrote one of the earlier studies on the effects of masking in the pandemic. Also interviewed repeatedly is one of the docs on the FDA review board for the vaccines, Dr. Paul Offet.
His insights are very interesting. Dr. Z, the host, is a Science First guy and is digging down through the various studies. If you go back far enough in the vids, you can see his stance on masking shift (thanks to Dr. Gandhi and her little dog Frodo). Good middle of the road political look without the hype and partisan stuff.
The latest one with Dr. Offet, and the one right before with Dr. Marty Makery (sp?) were at odds over boosters and the need for. But both conversations were reasoned, and based on the science available at the time.
Everyone has to make their own decisions. Before they make up their mind, I hope everyone at least looks at the science, and not the voodoo quacks peddling the snake oil.
I'll put the soap box away, and go get another cuppa coffee.
