Greg have fun this weekend. I cannot image the number of hours or money I lost at those casinos. Ho Chunk in Wittenberg, North Star between Wittenberg and Shawano or the Menominee Casino in Keshena. But our favorite was Ho Chunk in Nekossa.

Neutzke’s meats in Wittenberg still IMO has the best thick cut smoked bacon in the USA. Now we just order it online.
I second losing money at the Casinos. I never overdo the gaming at the slots, but I like Lobstermania and one of the games at the local bars that has a fishing game. If a win at a machine that money is put away and taken home with me.

If you been to Nekossa, then have you had diner at the Branding Iron Supper Club on Highway 13.

Just walking into the front door at Nueske's makes me hungry. I find their Landjaeger to be some of the best and we always buy 3 or 4 pounds of the snack.

Grrrrr.....

Wife didn't want me to book a hotel for tonight. She was SURE they'd have power restored because 450+ power workers just arrived from other states to help

And, the power is still off.

Today, the main level only climbed 5 degrees from this morning (we're at 82 and muggy inside)
Basement is definitely musty. I had to hit the asthma inhaler after sleeping there for four hours last night. That was all the sleep I got. Tried again after the inhaler and the best I could do was an hour of intermittent 5-minute dozing, then wake with snoring... Upstairs way too muggy to even try to sleep. The air here is a lot thicker than I'm used to.

So, now all the local hotels are booked solid for tonight.

We're looking at a 45 min drive to get a room, and wife is again refusing... why drive?

Oh, and tomorrow is the auction of her mother's home. So, that's a 45-minute drive anyway. And there are a couple of hotels in that rural town where she could set up her computer and work from the hotel room.... but, with an 11 am check out, we'd need to book 2 days... So, I'll be working on Sherrel levels of sleeplessness

Evening all,

Had a dental exam and found I still have most of my teeth. Got the certificates ironed out, when I asked about registering the names and ip address to our DNS records, light bulbs went off everywhere and had it fixed by 2. Currently 97° and partly cloudy. Front won't make a difference in tomorrow's temps. Pizza ready!!!

Good evening. 70° clear and sunny. Today's high was 79°. Forecast for tomorrow calls for more clouds and a chance of rain, temp similar to today.

Trimmed some Forsythia that has become over grown and intertwined with vines. The growth extended to the top of the box window on the side of the house. I did not realize this until today, when I happened to notice it. Time to stop being a hermit, and get out and do things.

We are due to receive two new porch rockers tomorrow...assembly required...these are mostly decorative, although the wife likes to sit out in the afternoon. Also have to set up the patio tomorrow, now that the pollen and tree schmutz are done falling.

Troy: Hope the power is back quickly.

Curt: Nice remembrance for our friend Garry.

Tom O': Hope the infusion works...Best wishes.

Todd: That looks nasty. This is the season when retreads fail.

I've been watching the outage map, and the #'s of customers affected keeps leapfrogging down by about a 100-ish every 10 minutes or so... then the orange dot disappears. The dot down the road from our dot just vanished... hope we're next...

Looks like they're running about 30 minutes behind estimates.

Fingers and toes crossed...

So here is the link of the BNSF yaed in Haslet Texas......I am no means a photographer sooooooo here ya go!

Busy day yesterday. Worked for Amazon until 7am, replaced the spark plugs in our Sonic and cut the grass.
Sat down to watch some TV and none of my streaming channels would work on my Samsung TV. Checked the Internet, all good. Checked to see if the streaming channels worked on the other TVs, they did. Checked to see if the Samsung needed an update, it did. I wonder why it did not update automatically? System froze during the update, not good. Downloaded the update to a USB stick, that failed as well. I just want to lay on the couch and watch TV! Now I'm scheduled for warranty service next Monday.
In the mean time I had one unsold 32" TV left in inventory. I set that up on the TV stand in front of the 75" Samsung TV, it looks strange, but it works!
In the grand scheme of things, all is well. If this is the worse problem I have, I'm fine. Just my legs, hips and back are talking to me today from all the up, down, back and forth during what should have been nap time!

Oh well like I always say, everyday is a good day, some are just better than others. Thank God for another day.

Good morning all! 82 on the way to sunny and 95 here. Still under the heat advisory today. Supposed to start slowly trending downward the next few days. Hoping for rain, but no significant chance in forecast.

Been pretty busy the last couple days at work. A contractor was supposed to be in Tuesday to work on a network project but canceled out till next Tuesday. Kinda glad they did because we've had had plenty of stuff to do besides that.

I injured my left thumb at work last Friday when the hutch on top of a desk came sliding off at me as we moved the desk after installing a network cable. Hyper extended my thumb and it's been sore and swollen ever since. Finally got in to a convenient care place yesterday to look at it. They didn't see any evidence it was broken, just really sprained at the lowest knuckle. Been trying to keep ice on it as often as possible and that helps for a bit.

Other than that, just the usual stuff. Got home late yesterday after stopping by to help my dad set up his new DSL modem. Had some delicious beans and cornbread waiting for me when I got home, then spent the rest of the evening reading and taking notes from a chapter in the textbook for my class.

Hope you all have a great day!

Well, howdy there internet peeps, and those with AC

It's humid Troy again.

Heat dome abates slightly tonight. Maybe. High of 90 today. Mother-in-law's real estate auction is tonight. Have to drive wife down for that.

I managed to get through the night OK, but my lungs are screaming. Hit my inhaler once last night, and once when I got up.

Showered and mostly sane. Got wife's computer packed so she can go work at her sisters. She needs the big monitor, keyboard and accessories like the laser printer for what she needs to do today. Made sure to put in my 2-wheel cart.

Then I'm back to Panera for the day.

IF we have no power tonight, I will find a hotel. My lungs cannot take another night of musty basement sleeping.
