Roundhouse Models Wilson & Co. Old Time Reefer Car Lightly Weathered

I built this Reefer Car Monday morning. The car body was pretty bright and “toyish” looking but I didn’t want to over weather it and loose the over all appearance of the car. I used a soft Makeup Brush that one of my Daughters gave me one time (they always give me there old brushes) and I used a Pastel stick. For the Reefer Door hinges, Hardware and Grab Irons I used a Graphite pencil. The undercarriage was painted a Flat Dark Gray. Here’s the build and finished pics. I have another one of these cars I’ll be building soon from the same era and I’ll post more pre-build pics next time. Enjoy the pics.

Lee, it looks great. Nice amount to reduce the shiny sides and love the graphite idea.

Thanks for the complement Tom. I got that idea many years ago when I started building Millitary Models thought I would start applying it here in the Model Railroading seems to be working
