Re-railers, any problems & can there be too many

Can there be TOO MANY rerailers on a layout plan?

I'm not talking about those obviously overt ones that are just plainly not needed, but rather extra ones to help assure no lengthy derails not being caught.

Are there negatives associated with the Atlas re-railers??....CODE 100

While there are no negatives associated with Atlas code 100 rerailers, if they are needed then there is something else wrong that should be addressed first. Using them at access points to hidden or otherwise inaccessible trackage might be the only reason that I can see for using them. I have seen them used to represent grade crossings, but I would rather scratchbuild my own.

I have no rerailers at all on my home layout. My track is all code 70 and I don't even believe that they are available in code 70. Apparently the time I took to lay track was well spent as I have left the train room with a train running and returned the next day and the train is still running without any derailments.

At my club, they have a few rerailers on sidings to allow members to easily get their equipment on the tracks to run.
