It just snaps together, easy easy. There are no joiners, just little contact points that come pre-placed to the track that when the tracks snap together they touch and that acts as the joiner.
The track is easy to use but I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than "trainset" quality. It just has a cheap feel to it, but if you're just looking for a small setup or something for the kids the power loc track will work well.
I guess if it will be what you need depends on how you plan to use it?
It's a good starting point for most people getting into the hobby. It's cheap, and abundant. Eventually, you can switch to some flex once you get your feet wet.
