Nice start on both of those guys. The 12'x8' benchwork space in the video is looks like it would be a lot of fun.

What are the dimensions on yours Jeffro?

mine is also 12x8 . access at the front, back and center. Widest section is 3ft (front and sides) with 2 ft at the front. Table set at 40 inches high.
2x4 framing and 1/2 in plywood. All screwed together incase I want to add or remove. Thinking about painting the top a brown "dirt" color to seal the wood. Its pretty sturdy (can crawl on it with out any sagging).

The layout on UTube looks well constructed but I really hate using OSB for layout tops. It's not dimensionaly stable and swells when exposed to water. Although plywood can do the same thing, OSB is much slower to dry and that can spell trouble in a high humidity environment. Model railroad layout surfaces get exposed to a fair amount of water between ballasting and scenery. I would much rather spend the extra money and get plywood.

My friend just started on his layout. Here's a video of it.

I was just glancing through your Flickr photoalbum and stumbled across this picture of two modern diesels both of which have paint schemes I can’t identify.

What’s more the one on the right seems to have a paint scheme resembling something I’ve seen on Soviet MIGs.

Are these actual paint schemes or “artistic liberties” taken by the model maker???
