Making mountains with masking tape

If this is temporary I would say you were successful and it looks nice. Wonder how long the tape will stick to the board?

I'd be concerned about the durability. Personally I prefer woven strips of corrigated cardboard covered by plaster cloth, and a top layer of Plaster of Paris or Hydrocal. But this does look nice for the materials used.
 
Like the others I would be concerned about the durability of the tape both keeping its shape and staying tight to the board. I have used masking tape to hold paper forms in place and applied hard shell or plaster cloth over the paper and tape.

Looks very good.
