Looking for online source

Hey guys, I am looking for an online source for modeling the U.P. heritage passenger car fleet. Can anyone help or provide a link? I looked in Utah Rails w/ no luck as well as a google search.

Thanks,
Seann

Ooohhhh very nice! Good selection for a train.

I model the UP Heritage Train, with the UP 844 and Challenger.

I have 10 Walthers UP Passenger cars. Some are just the basic UP City series cars, as well as the heritage cars they now offer.

I have the Willie James, Colorado Eagle, and the very new released Observation Dome with Challenger sign on the back and lights included.

I run both locomotives with the water tender, which is from the Athearn Turbine Tender that was sold separately.

That's funny, I just bought 12 of the Walthers cars for my train including the Challenger observation dome. Didn't get the KATY or the City of SAN Fran dome car though. They were all out. I picked up the CNW bagage car to turn it into the promotory car w/ the flags. I'm dumping all of my Eastern steam to help fund this project. I'm not necessarily looking for spot on perfect, just a nice train to make me smile. After all that's what it's all about! Thanks for the links!

And this is the site that will give you a lot of prototype info including views of the interiors and floor plans (lost among my favourites, why I hadn't put it up first)
http://www.up.com/aboutup/special_trains/historical_equipment/index.htm.

Here you will find that, for instance, Walther's dome diner "Colorado Eagle" is misnamed (should be "City of Portland") because while it is a diner, "CE" has no kitchen ("Co'P" does).

The "Katy Flyer" has 4 sister cars in the fleet, all sharing the same 44 seat plan, so other 44st "City" train coaches can be used, the difference being in the paint used, the City ones are a flat paint and a brighter yellow, whereas Walther's Heritage cars are painted in a less bright yellow and the paint is a gloss (the gloss is prototypical).

The "Willie James" in the Heritage fleet has had major changes to it's original Budd 10-6 sleeper and is a crew car/crew sleeper w/kitchen. Walthers have just used one of it's older 10-6 sleepers and put the name on it.
