Lionel o-gauge Commodore Vanderbilt

Hello
At a upcoming local auction they have a Lionel o-gauge Commodore Vanderbilt. It's a tender 265W Blue GreenTrain Engine, comes with cars 617,618 and also 619. Can anyone give me a idea on value. They do look in bad shape but i dont know anything about these. Thanks
 
Can't say I'm any kind of an authority on Lionel eq. but as a collectable I have no idea, but as a model RR item they don't look in very good shape to me. Unless you just need them for parts I'd pass on them
 
I would put it at pre war. I've watched videos Lionel and that looks like a pre war one. I know there are a lot of collectors out there so I would get it appraised before I put before I put any money down at it or sold it !!
