Is it worth it?

As I type this, there's only 11 minutes to go so I assume you have already made a decision. If I wanted one of these, I'd probably be willing to go to $250. It's a nice model but most of that detail work is not expensive and can be done on your own. If it had a good sound system, I'd go higher, but I think $250 is pretty near the top of the value scale on this one.

Well as for the detail I Dont have the patients that some of you have, That comes with age and I am still to young for it lol. Kato units that are DCC ready are around 180 so I think your right.

Wow, $250 was too much for it to begin with, much less $400.....
That OMI chassis aint worth that much, I come across them constantly on yahoo group for about $40-70 each.

You can buy the RPP shell and chassis from A-Line for the following prices:
shell/frame/h-kit: $28 http://ppw-aline.com/railpower_products.htm#bodies
repower kit: $53 http://ppw-aline.com/re-power.htm#RPK
power trucks w/sideframes: $24.50 http://ppw-aline.com/re-power.htm#PWRTRK
handrail kit: $19 http://ppw-aline.com/detlloco.htm#HANDRAIL
heres the main page for the chassis components:
http://ppw-aline.com/frrppsd90.htm

so, overall, you can have the RPP version of the 90mac for $125, and it has a can motor in it, correct sideframes, and the h-kit, that you can't find for the other macs.....

Pretty amazing bidding war. I hope P***P isn't a member of our group. If you are, you're a total moron to pay that kind of price but I guess it must have been worth it to him.

Don, looks like a reasonable deal you got on that SD90.

Well this one that I am getting will get the Diesel Tsunimi treatment.
I guess I can try my hand at all the detail parts as well... Were do I find all those parts at anyway?
I thank you all for your input on this your all a great bunch here.
