I'm not tied to "One" locomotive.
Far too many have captured my heart.
What makes it so easy and enjoyable is locomotives aren't jealous creatures.
I believe my "Favorite" one is the one hooked to the throttle at the moment.

True. Even wives may not be jealous creatures, at least where locomotives are concerned.

Case in point: An old joke [paraphrasing mine]. From Model Railroader magazine IIRC:

Wife #1 to wife #2: "Don't you ever get tired of him playing with his trains?"

Wife #2: "No, not really. It makes him happy. And it has some benefits for me too."

Wife #1: "Benefits? For you? You have got to be kidding me."

Wife #2: "No, no. It really does. I always know where he'll be and what he'll be doing with his spare time...".

Wife #1: "Uh huh...".

Wife #2: "...and I know that if his eyes ever do stray...

Wife #1: "Uh huh...".

Wife #2: "...they'll stray for a 4-8-4...

...and not a 36-24-36."
