I have an idea for a fun project. As I have been “going through” my old stuff I have found a few TYCO, Life Like and the like cars (even a Varney 34’ hopper!), A couple of USRA style box cars, three tank cars, a couple of flats and a caboose or two. Chances are I’ll find a couple more pieces. I want to share a “renew and upgrade” thread based on this stuff.
As some may know I’ve had mucho health problems in the past year major operation and lots of anesthetics which along with neuropathy in my hands, especially the right one have brought me a “new normal” I need to learn to work with, and man do I need to practice! I am blessed as I have just about everything I need except metal wheels.
I am having trouble getting picture hosting working but I’m sure I’ll overcome that soon enough. Are there enough interested members to make this a worthwhile project? I’m already stripping the paint off the cars, should I document everything and start with the project?
I did this stuff and it was great fun in the 1970’s and 80’s and was proud of my work. I love to share what I can remember of my techniques and learn some more. What say you folks?
