Florala, Alabama?

Hey guys,

I have a lot of my family from there, as well as my dad was raised there mostly. He recalls there used to be a railroad that ran through there. Anyone know how I can find out about it? I've tried researching, but can't seem to find anything really - best info I've determined is it *might* have been the Yellow River Railroad, possibly bought out by Louisville & Nashville sometime after the 1950s.

Florala is located on the 'Bama/Florida state line, above Fort Walton Beach/Destin, and below Andalusia.

It was the L&N. I can't find any evidence of a Yellow River Railroad in Alabama or Florida. There's a really good history of Alabama railroads at http://www.rofilms.com/page62.htm

Florala...been through there many times on the way to the beach.
