Hi Mac,
Yes it is the UK and the railway is based on British Railways in and around London. This is an 0 gauge system the trains are mainly tinplate now manufactured by Ace Trains of London there are also Bassett Lowke now owned by Hornby,and finescale Bachman and Heljan of Denmark running. Some of the rolling stock is Darstaed manufactured in Thailand. The buildings you may have noticed come from the USA and are manufactured under the Lemax and Department 55 labels.
I am fast aproaching 70 and as I am retired it is my attempt to give something back to the hobby.

Beautiful work there. Did you have things all planned out before construction started or was it just like Topsy (it sort of growed)? The music in the 4th video almost sounded like Crackerbox Palace by George Harrison.
