Digitrax UT4D

I am trying to install my only loco, # 3880.

The book says to "dial up".

I see four black buttons.

How do you dial a button?

There is no display to see what you are doing.

Do you push it in, out, up, down, left, right?

Do you push it in once for one, twice for two???

I hate instructions written by a genius.

Thanks. I am frustrated.

Is this the throttle with the direction switch at the top, a black knob for a throttle, four knobs with numbers, and a bunch of push buttons at the bottom?
If it is, rotate the knobs until the address shows as visible numbers, then push the "select" button. If it works the way it should, the little red led will turn green.

So your UT4 doesn't look like this and have the rotary knobs ???

If your UT4D looks like this, then the buttons that you need to turn to dial up your locomotive are the ones just below the big knob. The pencil on the left is pointing at the buttons that you need to turn to dial up your locomotive.
On this throttle, the loco number 7695 is dialed in.
Now the next question is, do you have the duplex receiver that is needed for this throttle in order to use the radio link?

Thanks.

Priceless.

When the unit arrive, everything is turned off, so everything seen is blank or black.

The books should say turn the dial until a number appears.

Thanks,

Bill
