Diamond scale turntable!

So, I am very fortunate to do business with the LHS that produces and sells Diamond scale products. I have been a frequent visitor of this place for 3 years now. They are great people and if I dare say, good friends. Well I was able to help/watch the building process of my 134' turntable here are some pics:

They start with a dense wood base. They install staples in it to hold the Portland cement to the wood. They started the first few then let me take over.

I skipped a step intentionally to keep something secret as per their request. After the "secret step" we set the turntable base into the mold and started to set it up for weights.

After x amount of time we flipped it over and removed the mold. That was a very delicate process! I felt like I was going to break it. We cleaned it up and let it finish setting.

I ran across this subject thread as I just remembered that I had a whole cut-out, built-up scene I had purchased from an estate. It has this 130' version of the Diamond Scale turntable along with a 5 stall Korber roundhouse.

I'll likely be listing it for sale soon as I have a big move planned. I'll post some photos soon.

These are great turntables. I have built a few of them and they are easy to put together. I have a 130 footer put away somewhere that was supposed to go in a friends layout, but never made it because he unfortunately passed away before we needed it. I had thought of using it on my layout but because of the space it took up and my limited real estate, had to put in a 90 foot Walthers turntable.
