Also wet/dry sandpaper painted black then rubbed down with a metal block.
I’ve used the WS topcoat as well with good results.

Looks like you were conscious even of pavement joints and crowned road surface considerations. Very nice.

A proven product for me is 400-600 grit wet/dry automotive sandpaper. To weather it, just rub your fingers on it and you have instant blacktop road or parking lot.

I have used the sand paper too. Once I figure out a simple weathering technique for it, I know it can look really good

OK, I picked up a few sheets of 1500 black sanding paper at the hardware store. I'll cut them up and lay them in place to see how they look.

1500 may be too fine to simulate asphalt. You want it to have a bit (a little bit) of texture to add a bit of depth. I've never tried it, but I know very well from automotive use what it looks like.

It might work for you though.
