Anyone make HO Triple Crown trailers/bogies???

I recently discovered a really neat rail sprayer, called ‘RAILMAX’ and am attempting to determine the feasibility of building this model in ‘S’ scale.

The ‘RAILMAX’ sprayer seems to be passed around a highrail truck pulling four highrail trailers that appear to be early model Norfolk Southern ‘Triple Crown’ trailers.

While most of the parts for this model could be created by modifying existing 1:64th scale models, I’m not sure that I will be able to reproduce the rail bogie (seen in the two pictures below) and was wondering if anyone currently manufactures a similar bogie in HO.

If such a bogie were manufactured in HO, I’d re-gauge and modify it to fit ‘S’ scale and use it in this model.

One of the ideas I’m also toying with is to actually use a small, single axle can motor setup to power the rail wheels in the first trailer and thus actually propel this model.*

The ‘S’ scale truck and trailer models I plan to use for the truck and trailer can be seen below;

The truck (model);

The trailer(s) (model);

The prototype;

* I know that it was the truck, and not the trailers that propelled the prototype, but since the model I intend to use includes engine detail, there is no room for a motor and gearbox in the truck.

That is AWESOME!! Ive never seen something like that, kinda gives "road train" a whole new meaning hehe

I would like to see this in HO scale, but S scale will be sweet too :D

Thank you jbaakko, those look perfect.

I’m going to call my local hobby shop today and see if he can order three of these(I like to give business to the small hobby shops), if they can’t I’ll order it online…

that railmax is one sick setup. there were a few pics last year of a ballast truck setup i think it was. nice setup also.

yeah, but I would hate to buy one and not have it work then have one oddball trailer in the parking lot. Guess I can deal with that.
