3 new buildings for the layout

First is the Grand Hotel. Still have to finish the roof and hang the curtains. The wife is working on some cool fabric type curtain/shades. 20180717_014515.jpg20180717_014536.jpg20180717_014547.jpg

Second is the Corner Turret Building. Not sure what this will be yet. Still needs windows installed and curtain/shades.

Last is the Corner Apothecary. It too needs the windows and curtains.

Olie,

As always, well done! Your really churning out the structures.
Thank you. That was the last one on this to-do list. I'm a few days behind schedule but at least they are built and painted. Fine detail stuff can come later.

Agreed, they look great and I am envious of your paint work!
Thank you and don't be envious. It's the little tricks I've learned over the years on how to manipulate paint with the bristles. You can tell when I was getting tired as my lines aren't as clean. Here are my secrets: When using acrylics, add flow aid. Keep the brush clean and wet with paint. When painting up to another painted surface, commit to your line and go! It's when we go back to dab and dab and dab to try and push the paint where we want it is when we get blow outs. Pull the paint with the bristles.

N scale limits me on how much I can use the airbrush for fine detail work requiring more brush work. Use the airbrush as much as you can and the end result will be much better. Once this layout is done, I get to start on the HO one. If I can get the N down fairly well, the HO will seem much easier, at least that what I'm telling myself!!
