Pros: All metal turned, smooth, finescale tread looks better
Cons: I personaly would rather have a plastic axle

I picked up a 100 pack on eBay, hoping to turn an easy upgrade of some rolling stock. I've been a fan of fine scale, code 88 (.088") tread since I started buying Athearn Genesis trucks.

Brachline has a GREAT product here, the bulk pack works out well. The wheels are smooth, no chips or dents. No notching like some P2K wheels. The axles are metal, and all 100 of mine are straight. One wheel is isolated by a plastic ring, to avoid shorts. Though I prefer plastic axles, to provide better insulation, or at least the center section, like Walther's Gold line wheels, these are fine. I have yet to have a short.

Installing went great, and is accomplished just like any other wheel set, by slightly bending the side frame outwards. I tested them in Walther's, Athearn, and Roundhouse side frames, and not one was snug, which hints at both good side frames, and no long axles (the latter of which I've had a few times on Kadee wheels).

In all, if you're upgrading to metal wheels, and want to do it in bulk, I say, go with Branchline. I think I'll be using them on everything I don't put Genesis trucks on from now on.
