Pros:

Simple, each bar can create 2, if you use the longer sizes
Cons:
needs flash cleaning, painting

I bought this pack to use on a Long Runner. I choose the .810" Athearn/Walthers spacing to make it a normal cooperating length. After trimming it off of the other sizes, I had to ream the hole as they're molded slightly too small. Then I sanded it smooth, so that it would turn in the coupler box. All thats left is paint, as they are unpainted, gray castings. Very worth the value, and MUCH better then other brands I've seen.

Pros:

Assorted Lengths to match your prototype, slightly bendy so that an accident won't snap them
Cons:
You need to cut them carefully so that theres no flash obstructing the coupler pocket, needs to be painted. Paint doesn't stick very well.

I had an early Walthers Ready to Run (pre-gold series) 4-unit well car set.
It came with plastic wheels so I swapped them out for Proto 2000 wheels. However, the wheels didn't roll very well and the sections kept derailing so I had to swap the wheels out for Intermountains. When I picked up the car, I snapped the middle drawbar. When I picked up half of the car, the other drawbar snapped. You know how much of a pain it is to pick up and flip over a multiple unit well car! You have to flip the whole thing over at the same time and place it on four slab of foam all the same height or else the drawbars will snap! (the foam is needed because of the plastic ladders)
I contacted Walthers for new drawbars but they didn't have any and suggested this product. I found it at the LHS and bought it.
I replaced all three drawbars with the mid-sized one. They are slightly bendy so if I accidentally flip the car over incorrectly or pick it up to re-rail it, the drawbar won't snap on me like the Walthers ones did.
I left mine unpainted because I attempted to paint them and the paint refused to stick. The paint just puddled on it.
