Being the only GP15-1 (Walthers calls it a GP-15) available, it was a "must" to buy one. I like the body style and size for the GP15-1's, they're so small, and have an unusual body style.
Walthers Trainline units get their share of harsh reviews, I can't fully review this one, as it had DCC installed by the previous owner, and I have no DCC system yet, however I plan to review the rest of the unit.
The unit does come RTR out of the box, handrails attached. The sideframes are less details, thought they are included in the package, for user install.
I bought the lone BNSF H1 unit, #1478. It came with a plow on both pilots, however the Prototype unit does not have a plow on either end. The airhorn is to be added by me, Walther's hole is just above the front headlight, BNSF's are installed to the middle of the long hood.
The unit lacks well detailed exhaust stacks, I'll be removing them and replacing, they look like little nubs!
The handrails are plastic, and the windows are just a simple "slide in".
These GP15-1's are nice, but if you're picky, they require some work to look good.
