Description: This is the first ready to roll product from Rapido Trains, and I can't wait to see more.
The detail on this kit is excellent. There are many details including metel grab irons, air lines and coupler cut levers. And the detail is not just on the outside. The interior is fully detailed and painted and the under carriage is second to none. Its really a shame you can't normally see the underside!
The paint and lettering is very crisp and clear. The windows even have shades on them.
The kit comes with metal wheels and plastic knuckle couplers. It also includes interior lighting that runs off two small batteries. The kit includes the batteries and a megnetic wand to turn the lights on the off with.
The only real disappointment with this kit is in the fit and finish. Most of the grab irons are not painted and some glue marks are visable.
All in all, this is the best passenger car you can get for the money.

Pros: Outstanding detail, Interior and lighting included, price
Cons: Unpainted grab irons

This is a beautiful passenger car. The Duplex Sleeper looks and runs just as good.

Rapido's customer service is also very good. One of my undec kits was missing a wheel set and Rapido had a new one to me in just over a week.

Pros: Crisp Paint, Fine details and interiors, Interior lighing is standard
Cons: Unpainted grabs

A passenger car that provides excellent detail and everything you would expect from a brass coach, but in a plastic version. Walthers doesn't even come close. Rapido Trains sets a new standard for passenger cars.

Pros: (see above)
Cons: Unpainted grabs, sides not secure to the floor

As a follow up to my previous review, I have found some defects with these cars which Rapido addresses and says they will correct in the second run of cars. For example, if one looks at the underframe of the car, they will see that the sides of the car are not secure on the floor; you can see space between the bottom of the sides and the floor. See http://rapidotrains.com/scl01-quality.html for more information regarding future improvements to the models. I would suggest to anyone looking into buying this car to wait until the second run is released so you don't have the same problems that the first run had.
