Pros: Well detailed, well molded, fair price
Cons: missing a few minor detail parts, NO CHASSIS, undecorated

I've allways wanted a full body unit on my layout, and Kaslo delivered with this, the SD60F, and a SD40-2F (more rare).

I picked up this SD50F on eBay, and when it arrived, started building. The resin Kaslo uses molds VERY well, with little to no air bubble defects. Infact, mine had NONE! It tooks me roughly 5 hours of work, over 4 weeks, to complete this shell, I have yet to add a chassis.

Adding the angled cooling grill, and the fan covers were a little rough, having to be hand bent. The details are great, however I feel the plow may be a little tall, it looks like its rounghly 1/2 a scale foot to all, as it touches the ditch lights, were as on the prototype, there are grab irons in between, and a gap. Kaslo left out air hoses, & MU hoses, but included everything else for th shell.

The kit calls for an Athearn SD40T-2, RPP SD60/SD60M, or Proto 2000 SD60 chassis. Since the release, Athearn has released the SD50, and SD60, which can both be used, being based on the RPP SD60/SD60M chassis. Kaslo suggests not using the Proto 2000 chassis as it cannot be securely mounted.

If you like full body units, and don't want to scratch build, Kaslo has it for you!
