Pros:
Hefty weight, looks great, metal wheels, plastic windows good detail
Cons:
Wheels are not blackened, they 'shine'
I have two of these cabeese, they are my favorites. I like the weight and the way they roll. They are the only cars I have with plactic couplers that are reliable! maybe it is because they are not pulling anything?

Pros:

Nice try, Athearn
Cons:
Totally off scale. I have an Atlas cupola caboose and put it next to the Athearn. Athearn is too big and is off scale
Totally not HO scale. The caboose is too tall and the details are too large

Pros:

great detail
Cons:
proportion/scale is off
I agree with the review above. The Athearn version, when next to the Atlas version, is noticably taller by about half an inch, and looks to be a tad larger than standard 1/87th scale.
I'll upload a comparison picture when I get around to it.
