Positive aspects of the product (pros):
Great detail, crisp paint & lettering
Cons:
Lacks etched brake platforms
Excellent detail on this one, compairable with most Atlas models. The car comes with brake detail, and separate molded and installed ladders. Atlas says they come with blackened metal wheels, however mine does not have blacken metal wheels. However, it IS from a slightly older run, so they may have switched later on. The end platform detail is nice, but it is molded on, not a separate parts as in the Athearn Genesis cars. They are quite thick also, and the tack boards are lacking in detail. Even Athearn Blue box kits have more tack board detail then this car. Door latches are molded on, and being a plug door car, the doors do not open. Overall I have to rate this car an 8, due to the blrake platforms & tack boards.
To fully compair to a Genesis car, you'd have to add air line detail next to the coupler, remove the molded on latches, and brake platforms, and replace. Also, a Genesis car has the "rolling" roller berrings, where this has a more conventional solid side truck.

none!

For the price of the car, you can't go wrong! I have a few of these cars, all from older runs (I don't think Atlas retooled these though) so they have molded on door details, but the cars are sufficiently weighted and have the tried and true Atlas trucks with Atlas metal wheels.
