Default I found a photo of a C&NW hammerhead

It is sort of dark but I knew C&NW had one. It is the highhood that stood out and I saw a much better photo years ago but can't find it now. What stands out and from the description I recall and from the description offered on a few other sites mention that the high short hood is not as rounded as other hammer heads and it is a RSD 5 so that's why I couldn't find it looking for RS3's .

It's the flat front end that will make it possible for me to use the stewart RS3 shell that I robbed the short hood off to build the RS3 hammer head front taller . The one I posted photo's of . I still have the short hood roof and now using this photo I can easily build the new front . Even the roof appears to be less rounded based on looking at the long hood roof . This is the only photo I can find , wish there were more light on the front so I could see if the front right where it meets the roof is also rounded the same way . It sort of appears in the photo like that area is not rounded.

Looks to me that the curvature on the front top is a continuation (same radius) of the vertical corner that is clearly visible on the front left (our left) side. As you said though, really kind of hard to tell for sure with this picture.

I can't tell for certain either. If the light just hit the top left corner a bit more then yes. I can see the same curve at the cab so it would make sense that the same shape would be applied to the front top other than the idea that the roof hits the cab square and it could be like some of the old HH 900 Alco's that simply had a welded seam at the same place.

I tried fallen flags but they don't list this loco and there were three of them 1686, 7 and 8. All I know is one was wreaked and the others sold to small lines so I need to go back and check those other rail lines out.
