Have you looked at the Free-Mo groups. Their standards aren't as restrictive as the NMRA's. I've seen several Free-Mo layouts and they have some real op sessions at their shows.

I've even thought about building a Free-Mo module but I'd have almost no one around here to "connect" to so to speak.

I have looked at Free-Mo, don't care for the mainline track down the center of the module, maybe I can buy into that someday...

I agree. I think besides having some standard as to how I attach each module together, I may just build a couple modules and just lay track down and cut the rail at where the two modules come together. Right now I am just going to get one built and go from there as time and money allow.

There are some standards that I will follow, track gauge, wheel sets, couplers, etc.
