Default Trying to identify and value old Ahm trainset

I have a ahm Ho train set I inherited. I'm not sure if all the pieces are to one specific set but I found a catalog with the Diesel locomotive check at the number 5024 E Sf. On the lip of the box it also says RO/YU/2/JUNE/73/2

I also have a dome tank car 5480 Republic, a cattle car 5275 Denver and rio gr, open hopper 5460h southern pacific, and a few others, plus tracks and accessories.

I have no idea if this is worth something, but if it is I'm looking to sell it. If you know more what it's worth, mind helping me out?

If it's all there, and like new, maybe twenty bucks, tops.

Agreed. AHM was not a highly collectable manufacturer, at the lower end of quality. You can check out prices on AHM equipment through eBay: http://www.ebay.com/sch/AHM-Rivarossi-/19129/i.html

Thanks! That's good to know. I'll just let my kid mess around with it then; he's been aching to get his hands on it

That is what they were originally for when new. If your kid decides he likes trains, it was an inexpensive introduction to them. If he doesn't like them, or if he breaks them, it is not a big loss.
