Default South Jersey checking in...

I'm new to the forum. I grew up with trains. My grand father was a tinsmith with PRR in Philadelphia, and it took off from there. My older brother had HO trains, and i was forced to have N scale because I had less room. When he left for the service I was 10, and I build a 4x8 N scale layout. It had 4 concentric circles, huge mountain at one end, it was fun. Fast forward 40 years and I'm finally building that model railroad I've always imagined since that first and only complete layout.

I'm building an HO scale layout around my basement. My intent is to automate every aspect of the layout that I can imagine. I'll build a JMRI server here soon once I get my benchwork prepared. As a bonus my friend and neighbor is a high school math teacher and .net programer, he is dying to write code to run the system. So technology will be running the layout, but I'm also working on my weathering and building skills. and want to dial in all aspects. I can't come up with a name for my railroad...

Steve, just so happens that I ran my first complete circuit last night after months of work and a few rebuilds, no more back and forths. I went thru a mind numbing process on how to name my railroad and am just hitting a sorta stage 1 milestone. I'll write up a posting introduring my rr to the "world"... ours is a small world! So I'll be posting pics and info soon. Its the CV&MA RR
